Description: | Current Photo of the E. Barrett Prettyman Courthouse building designed by Louis Justement. Justement started designing the building in 1945 and his design was approved in 1948. On June 27, 1950, the first day of the Korean War, construction began on the building when President Harry S. Truman laid the cornerstone. Construction was completed in 1952. Justement's design was one of the first constructions in the area not based on a central courtyard design. A recent, more modern, addition was added on the building a few years ago. |
