Description: | Memo from Henry S. Churchill, a chairman of the Committee on Urban Planning at the American Intitute of Architects, arguing that AIA should not be included in a debate over private vs. public housing. Instead the AIA's objective should be to support any effort that provides for more adequate housing and encourages the redevelopment of cities. Therefore he believes subsidies are acceptable not as charity but as as a rational way that the gap can be filled between the cost of homes and what buyers can pay. |
