Description: | Memo from the D.C. Department of Pubic Welfare outlining how the displacement of families from their houses by government agencies should be handled. In the memo, the Director of Public Welfare Gerard M. Shea, states his plan to establish an advisory committee to oversee all agencies involved in urban renewal and family displacement. Further, he proposes that the Landlord-Tenant Consultant Service, a division of the Department of Public Welfare, be expanded to handle the welfare needs of families that are displaced by government actions. |
