Description: | Letter by David S. Clark to William Walton, Chairman of the Commission of Fine Arts, voicing strong opposition to proposal to destroy the Old Post Office Tower. This letter, written in 1970, demonstrates one viewpoint in a debate that lasted for more than a decade. The letter also makes derogatory reference to the plans for the new F.B.I. Headquarters building on Pennsylvania Avenue. |
